Welding

One of the primary hurtles for welding machine manufactures is having a system capable of smoothly transitioning from position or velocity mode to force mode and being able to survive long term in a hostile environment. For years, manufactures of pneumatic components and systems have tried to provide a solution to this complex problem, but always seemed to come out with a product that had some type of deficiency – either is was too spongy, too slow, or did not make the transition to force mode well. The Pneubotic actuator solves these problems. Because of the control algorithms we employ, external forces are quickly rejected, making for a very stiff yet stable system. The Sunstream Scientific servo valve is designed with speed and efficiency in mind, and the control and valve can achieve small steps in pressure within 5 ms, with the cylinder fully charged at full extension within 15 ms. The inclusion of on-board pressure sensors eliminates the need for costly load cells.
