Sunstream Scientific is a designer and manufacturer of continuously variable linear actuators that utilize compressed air as the prime mover.  With three patents pending, we are committed to the development of unique products that will optimize and facilitate intelligent automation across a broad span of industrial applications.

Over the past two decades, multiple pneumatic systems offering variable position output have been introduced into the automation industry and presented as either low cost alternatives to electric actuators, or as flexible replacements to conventional pneumatic controls.  However, these actuators often lack the speed and controllability to provide a functional alternative to mechanical stops and cushions.  And with even moderate inertial loads, they fall dismally short of the dynamic performance offered by state-of-the-art electric servos.

In 2002, Sunstream Scientific set out to address these deficiencies with a comprehensive, clean sheet design.  After multiple years of development, the result is a sophisticated pneumatic servo actuator capable of precise and responsive motion in real world industrial applications.  We design and develop our own cylinders, valves, electronics and embedded software.  In addition, we have the skills and experience to assist you with the integration of our products into your automation machinery
